Non, My Boss, My Hero n’est pas un chef d’œuvre du 7ème art, loin s’en faut. Mais il sera suffisamment bon pour m’inciter à regarder des dizaines d’autres dramas. C’est déjà une qualité, mais pas la seule. My Boss, My Hero est l’histoire du volcanique Sakaki « Tornado » Makio, héritier d’un clan yakuza, âgé de 27 ans et bête à manger hay. So stupid that his father sends him to school with the threat to disinherit him in case of failure in examinations at the end of the year. Obviously, Makio must hide his age and his "work" to his classmates and teachers under threat of deportation. Hence, flow naturally a series of frankly hilarious scenes in the last ten episodes of the series. Both admit, this series is mainly based on the performance of Tomoya Nagase, in the role of Sakaki Makio. As he had already demonstrated in his previous successes - Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Mukodono! or Tiger & Dragon - this idiot friendly costume suits her admirably. Generosity of his acting - I dare a "to Louis de Funes - is undeniably the source of the success of this series. However, instead of the insufferable moron Mukodono!, Nagase Tomoya manages here to make us his character, not only hilarious and friendly, but also touching. Aussi me suis-je attaché à ce gentil crétin, efficacement soutenu par un casting qui, sans être brillant, a joué honnêtement les rôles secondaires ultra-classiques qui lui ont été confiés. Ainsi de Sakura-nantoka (Tegoshi Yuya), l’élève victime d’extorsion et qui s’épanouira aux côtés de son nouvel ami, Umemura-San (Aragaki Yui), lycéenne certifiée 100% pure et innocente, Minami-Sensei aka Tekkamen (Kashii Yu), la jeune enseignante découvrant toutes les facettes de son métier au-delà du simple enseignement, sans oublier l’antique infirmière Mizushima (Motai Masako), voice of wisdom and reason for our teenager. Yakuza side, I also give a good father figure to (Ichimura Masachika), obviously tough but loving: he arrived at the meeting between parents and teachers, as envisioned by Makio, remains a moment of anthology.
